Robert Mathias "Bob" Fehlen Jr., age 63, formerly of Toledo, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School, attended the University of Toledo and was a member of the Ohio Air National Guard. He then became a top salesman for Sears, followed by being General Manager of Baisden and Sons Construction. He then became a top salesman in real estate and loan mortgaging. He served as vice-president of the Toldeo Telephone Employees Credit Union. He also served as president of the Pine Cove Condominium Association in Hamilton, Indiana; and was a member of the Fish and Game Club also of Hamilton. He was an awesome husband, father and grandfather, known by his grandkids as "Poppy." He enjoyed family vacations to Mexico and vacationed for 21 years at Miley's Family Resort in Bellaire, Michigan. He enjoyed time with his friends, cheering on the Buckeyes and Browns; horse racing and always loved a good wager. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and was known to "sneak" not only donuts, but also candy to his grandchildren. A loyal friend to all, he mentored many and enjoyed life! Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Kay (Carroll) Fehlen, Sr. He is survived by his dear wife, Mary Ann (Wachter) Fehlen; children, Kristi (Brian) Cyre, Kevin (Melinda) Fehlen and Katie (Martin) Bihn; his beloved grandchildren, Ryder Cyre, Brynn Cyre and Lane Fehlen; sister, Marcia (Ken) Slivka; brothers, Tom (Cheryl) Fehlen and Jim (Jeanne) Fehlen; and many nieces and nephews. Bob's memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. The family will receive friends following the Mass. Private family burial at later date. Arrangements entrusted with JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Donations in Bob's name are preferred to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, New York (10006) to further research in Autoimmune hepatitis.
