Roseann Volpe, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Kobacker House with her loving family by her side. She is preceded in death by parents, Pat and Julia Volpe; twin sister, Maryann Maher; brother-in-law, James Oldham, Sr. Roseann retired from the State of Ohio, Civil Rights Commission. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She enjoyed reading mysteries, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, trips to the casino, watching The Food Network, Jeopardy and QVC. She loved the Arts and was a big fan of Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti. She instilled this love of the Arts in all of us. Roseann also looked forward to playing Wi Bowling every Tuesday afternoon with the group at her condo. Roseann was an amazing, intelligent and generous person. She had a heart of gold and helped many people. She is survived by her loving sister, Norma Oldham; brother-in-law, Ed Maher; nieces and nephews, Victoria Oldham, Louis Maher, Danielle (Jeff) Bereznay and James Oldham, Jr.; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special friends, Donna (Gary) Ater, Peggy Leighty, Helen Miesse, Kay and Joe Carr. Roseann rests in God's arms now. "They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar as with eagle's wings. They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint," Isaiah 40:31. The family wishes to thank Heartland of Westerville and also a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Kobacker House. Family will receive friends (Today), December 22, 2014, from 3-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. All are asked to gather for her funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery), 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations in her name are preferred to OhioHealth (Kobacker House), 180 E. Broad St., Columbus (43215), or a charity of your choice.
