Garnett Leona (nee Shirk) McGrath, age 98, of Columbus, passed away Friday April 4, 2014 at the Sanctuary. She was a cherished mother, avid gardener, ceramic artist, homemaker, market researcher and lifetime member of the Columbus African Violet Society. She is survived by daughter, Michele McGrath; nephew, Steve Shirk with wife Sara and great-nephews, Parker and Pearson. Preceded in death by husband, Paul Leo McGrath; brothers, Ralph and Henry Shirk; and sister-in-law, Marie McGrath. Friends may call at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, on Monday, April 14, 2014, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Private family burial at a later date.
