Lucy A. (DiLoreto) Gatto, was born on December 13 (the feast day of Saint Lucia), 1920; she passed from this life on Friday, April 26, 2013. Lucy was a strong and loving woman who will be deeply
missed. She greatly cherished family, faith, friendship, and gathering together at the table around a good meal. We thank God for her long life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gatto; also by her brothers, Andy and Tony DiLoreto and Mike Fiorini; her sister, Sue Patanella and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Gatto. A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, she was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Business School for Girls. Lucy began her working life in her early teens at her family’s restaurant, The Twentieth Century, in what is now the Short North. Through the years, she also worked for Lazarus downtown and the Ohio Department of Transportation. She instilled a strong work ethic into her family through her experiences. She is survived by her children, Juliann Lewis, Charles Gatto, Joseph (Kathleen) Gatto, and Vince Gatto; her grandchildren, Christina Heinz, Stephanie Day, Brandon Gatto, Jordan Gatto, and Dana Gatto, Joseph Gatto, Anthony Gatto, Amy Gatto Klein, and their families, including many great grandchildren. She is also
survived by her brother Daniel Fiorini, and sister-in-law, Gloria Fulcher as well as many nieces and nephews. Her Memorial Mass is Tuedsay, May 7, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., at St. John the Baptist
