Obituary

Viola (Verne) Del Greco, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the age of 102 at Country View Memory Care of Sunbury. She was a member of the SFI Auxiliary, Friendly Club, Amici D'Oro, Meloniers, Piave Club, St. Ann's Guild #s 20 and 39 where she was very involved in fundraising. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, the Blessed Mother Sodality and St. James the Less Catholic Church. She was an outstanding seamstress for her young daughters; taking her daughters to dance lessons; enjoyed having Sunday family dinners and was noted for her baking; Monday night shopping with her sister; enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. Viola is preceded in death by her loving husband, Egisto, of 72 years; parents, Guilio and Filomena Verne; parents-in-law, Arfino and Rosa Del Greco; brothers, James (Emily), Frank, German (Jenny), Marek (Lee), Julian (Bea), Julius (Rosemary) and sister, Virginia (Marion) Cautela. Survived by children, Anita (Pat) Elkins, Rita (Dave) Kreuzer and Frank (Sue) Del Greco; 11 grandchildren, Brent (Vickie), Kevin, Jeff (Cynthia) Elkins; David (Carole), Robert (Nicole), Brad (Amy), Jeff (Jennifer), Dean (Rachel) Kreuzer, Shelli Stumph, Tracie Romanelli and Frank (Jenny) Del Greco; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and God children. Friends may call Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue (with a Prayer service at 4 p.m.). Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village). Rev. Fr. William Metzger, Presiding. Family and friends are asked to gather at the church for the funeral Mass. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Country View Memory Care, Sunbury, Ohio and Heartland Hospice for their loving care given her. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to contribute may do so in Viola's memory to St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet St. Columbus, Ohio (43215) or Country View Memory Care (Harvest Hall), 14961 North Old 3C Highway, Sunbury, Ohio (43074). Dear Anita,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. You are very fortunate to have had her in your life for so many, many years. I think of you often - remember - we went to St Peter's grade school, St Mary of the Springs Academy and then Sacred Heart. I hope you have had a great life these past 60 years.
