Dorthe M. Flanagan, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. "Dot" was born in Columbus (OH) to the late Frank and Louise Frick on August 17, 1923. She is preceded in death by her spouse, John T. Flanagan; sister, Helen Mantor; brothers, John and Richard Frick. Dorthe is survived by sons, John (Angela) Flanagan and Patrick (Wendy) Flanagan; daughter, Louise (Chester) Porembski; grandchildren, Ian (Courtney Harris) Flanagan, Lauren (Patrick) Schmidt, Shaun Flanagan, Kaitlin Flanagan, Joseph (Lauren) Porembski, Anne (Joseph) McDaniel and Daniel Porembski; great-grandchildren, Ella Schmidit, Eliana Porembski and Jack McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews. Dorthe was the last survivor of the greatest generation of Flanagan and Frick's. Grandma Dot was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to volunteer and was known for enjoying and baking her favorite dessert: Pie! Friends may call on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 3-6 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue. Family and friends are asked to gather on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road (Marble Cliff). Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. Burial to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Dorthe to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen, 57 South Grubb St., Columbus (43215).
