Reverend Father Patrick Leo Sheridan, age 70, entered Eternal Life on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Mohun Health Care Center. He was born May 11, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Leo and Margaret (Carroll) Sheridan, who preceded him in death. He attended both St. John the Evangelist and St. Thomas the Apostle grade schools in Columbus, and then graduated from St. Charles Preparatory High School. He then graduated from John Carroll University and completed his theological studies at Mount St. Mary's Seminary/The Athenaeum of Ohio. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati on May 16, 1998. Father Sheridan served at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish from 1998-2001, and St. Susanna from 2001-2003. He became pastor of St. Patrick Parish (Bellefontaine) in 2003, serving until January, 2016. His final assignment was chaplain for the Ohio Dominican University. Father also served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam receiving the Silver Star award. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his sister, Margaret "Peggy" Sheridan; dear friends, Marvin J. Tibbetts and Dolores McShane Thomas. His family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2016, from 3-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Reception of the Body will take place at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 328 East Patterson Avenue, Bellefontaine (OH), with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at St. Patrick Church with the Most Reverend Dennis M. Schnurr, Archbishop of Cinncinati, as the Celebrant. Homilist will be Reverend Father Jay M. Harrington, O.P. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. His family wishes to thank Anne Reames, Bert Schwaderer, Dottie Peoppelmeirer and Becky Meyer, his "staff" at St. Patrick; the parishioners of both St. Patrick and St. Mary of the Woods; his oncologist, Dr. William Blum; his hematologist, Dr. Sanjay Yadav; the oncology nurses in Marysville and Columbus and the staff of Mohun Hall for their dedicated care and love.
