Obituary

Carlo R. Fala, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, September 12, 2014. Carlo was born on September 29, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a loving and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. Carlo was a veteran of World War II, having proudly served with the Marine Corps. Preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Pia (Ettorre) Fala; son, David Fala; brother, Allan (Al) Fala; and sisters, Lillian Fala and Sister Julia Fala, OSF. Carlo was the owner of Carlo’s Pizza in New Rome and Carlo’s Villa di Roma in Arlington. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Rita Fala; children, Larry Fala, Marlene (Terry) Riley, Steve (Amy) Fala and Tina (Rick) Walls; daughter-in-law, Sharon Fala; 13 Grandchildren; 30 Great Grandchildren; devoted sisters, Clara Fala, Shirley Fala, Jean Rizek and Joan (Charlie) White; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 3-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, where his funeral will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Entombment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carlo’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1397 Dublin Rd., Columbus (43214) in honor of his wife.
