Leonard Delpra, age 69, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 23, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Janice (nee Beck) Delpra for 46 years; loving father to Richard (Amanda) and Tony; cherished grandfather to Eric (Courtney), Stephen, Corey, Tre and Ty; great-grandfather to Max and Amelia; dear brother to Deborah (Carl) Farona; and also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Louis Delpra and Avonelle (Douglas) Box. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and former employee of The Columbus Dispatch as a security officer-in-charge stationed at WBNS TV-Channel 10. He was very active in the local community, having served as a member of the Bobcat Boosters for over nine years and having coached Little League baseball for seven years; in addition, he was a member and employee of the Police Athletic League assisting youths to better themselves in the community. Friends and family are invited to call from 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Visitation will conclude with U. S. Military Honors. Private family burial at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Leonard either to HomeReach Hospice c/o OhioHealth, 180 E.
