Obituary

Terrence “Terry” Joseph Lorenz, age 85, from Dublin, Ohio, passed away on March 17, 2014. Terry was born on August 16, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Frank J. Lorenz and Isabel (Seipel) Lorenz. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jodelle; sons, Michael (Jaci), Patrick (Linda), John (Karen), Dave (Mary) and Ken (Martha); daughters, Julie (Jeff) Bare, and Christine “Tina” Lorenz; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Ann), James (Joan), Christopher (Joan), Robert (Donna); sisters, Sr. Mary Linda, O.P., Judy (Ray) Hosler, Sr. Mary de Chantal, O.P., Linda Peeler, Mary (Mark) Francis. Terry graduated from Aquinas High School and the University of Dayton in Electrical Engineering and Music. Terry retired from National Electric Coil after more than 25 years. Prior employers were Battelle, Bell Sound System, and Lorenz Equipment Company. Terry was a long-time resident of Grandview Heights, Our Lady of Victory organist for 36 years, St. Brigid of Kildare Church member and choir member, 55 Plus Club member, Upper Arlington Orchestra bass violinist, Serra North Treasurer, Columbus Maennerchor Treasurer, Jacks and Jills pianist, First Community Wednesday’s Men’s Breakfast Club pianist, was active in Cursillos movement. Reception of the body on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, with visitation until 4 p.m., with continued visitation from 6-8 p.m., in the Church. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Church. Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Hendricks, Celebrant. Burial, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers please donate by writing checks to Ohio Health Hospice, 800 McConnell Dr, Columbus, OH 43214 in memory of Terry Lorenz, or to the Scholarship Fund at St. Brigid of Kildare’s School.
