Obituary
Augusta "Gustie" DeLuca, age 103, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Westminster Thurber Village. Born April 9, 1908 in Columbus Ohio. Gustie loved family, parties and making people laugh. She was a lifetime and oldest member of St. Catharine Catholic Church. Gustie is preceded in death by husband Joseph A. DeLuca "Papa Joe", parents Maria and Joseph Lombardo, sisters; Jaye, Annie, Katie, Angie, Margaret and Martha, brothers; Mike, John, and Charlie, grandson Rick DeLuca, daughter-in-law, Dixie DeLuca and brother and sister-in-law Angelo and Eldina DeLuca. She is survived by her devoted children, Joe (Angela) DeLuca and Mary (Danny) Lankford, grandchildren, Carolyn (Kurt) Swiger, Jodie (Joe) Rothermund, Debbie DeLuca, Jackie (Randy) Harbour, John (Carrie) Lankford, Kevin (Samantha) Lankford, Joe Lankford and special friend Denise Coppock, great grandchildren; Daniel, Jessica and Meghan Swiger, Lindsey and Connor Rothermund, Luca Sabados, Angelina Harbour, Taylor and Madison Lankford, Kiersten Lankford, Arielle Ellis, special nieces and nephews; Florence Marino, Richard, Jean, Dianne, Joy and Stephanie Iannarino and many other nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends may call TUESDAY January 3, 2012 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on WEDNESDAY January 4 at St. Catharine Catholic Church, 500 S. Gould Road, Rev. Fr. Michael J. Lumpe, Presider. NO PROCESSION FROM FUNERAL HOME, FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers,

I met Gustie in the mid Sixties while visiting with Dan Lankford and Mary. On that and other occasions, I remember her as fun loving and a gracious hostess.
