Lucy M. (Tangi) Cacchio, age 94 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 01, 2018. Lucy was a lifelong wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her passion was serving her family and friends with her cooking and baking. She knew how to make the holidays very special for her family. Lucy was a graduate of Holy Family High School and a long time member of Saint Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. Lucy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Daniel "Danny" Cacchio and her son, Daniel J. Cacchio. She was the oldest child and the final survivor of Rocchina (Boscia) Tangi and Antonio Tangi. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie Tangi, Erma Martina, Arsilia Tangi and brother, James Tangi. Lucy will be greatly missed by her children, Michael (Michelle) Cacchio and Linda (Daniel) Jewell. Her grandchildren, Melinda (Dan) Whitney, Mark (Jennay) Cacchio, Matt (Allison) Cacchio, Katie (Mark) Morgan, Melissa Jewell, Joseph (Nikki) Cacchio and Carrie (Rich) Collins and her 13 (soon to be 14) great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends; Lucy is also survived by her brother-in- law, Paul (Emma) Cacchio. The family would like to extend a special note of thanks and gratitude to the nurses and aids at the Hilliard Assisted Living and Memory Care facility for all the help they gave Lucy throughout her stay there. Friends may call Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 5-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Family and friends are asked to gather for her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel (located within the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery), 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in Lucy's memory to Holy Family Soup Kitchen, 57 S.
