Raffaella Marie Carrocce, age 96, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014. Raffaella was born May 7, 1917, to the late Pasquale and Serafina (Giammarco) Jaconette. She spent most of her life in the Columbus area; she was a founding member of St. Andrew and St. Peter Catholic Churches. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who also enjoyed coaching girls softball, playing Euchre, baking holiday cookies, dancing the polka with Bruno and winning toys for her great-grandchildren playing Bingo. She was a very religious woman praying hours each day for those she loved. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Bruno J. Carrocce; also her brothers, Thomas, Fred, Edilio "Blupe" (Helen) and Anthony (Mary) Jaconette; sister, Lucy (Clyde) Harris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Illario and Teresa Carrocce; brothers-in-law, Herbert Steele, Donald Centofanti, Ralph, James and Victor (Mary Lou) Carrocce; sisters-in-law, Catherine (Ascension) Ornelas, Mary (Dominic) Commisso, Lena (Julian) Grannie, Carmel (James) Mastrangelo and Annie (Tom) Balough. She is survived by her children, Donna (Bill) Durrant, Beverly Bucher and Larry Carrocce; grandchildren, Deanna (Chris) Conti, Lori (Joe) Cardamone, B.J. (Tracey) Durrant, Christy (Eric) Fouts, Paula (Mike) Weisenbeck and Nicole Carrocce; great grandchildren, Hope, Faith, Marcello, Mario and Sophia Cardamone, Ashleigh and Isaac Durrant, Daniel, Ana and Andrew Fouts, and Daniel Nelson; sister, Mary Steele; sisters-in-law, Ida and Elva Jaconette, Virginia Centofanti; brother-in-law, Dan (Verne) Carrocce; former daughter-in-law, Linda Carrocce; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, March 21, 2014 from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village) with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
